When I first stepped away from the conventional path, I thought I'd figured it all out. I'd be this calm, organised mother who had everything under control. Reality hit hard. The mental load nearly broke me. The isolation was real. And despite knowing in my heart that this was exactly where I needed to be, some days I questioned everything.
Then I lost my mother - may Allah grant her the highest of ranks in Jannah - ameen. She was the kind of woman who never second-guessed her choices. She poured herself into our family and community without expecting recognition or validation. Watching her legacy unfold after her passing showed me something powerful: the ripple effects of a mother's work extend far beyond what we can see.
Her death changed everything for me. It clarified my purpose and inspired me to create the support system I wish I'd had during my hardest moments.
Every nappy change, every midnight feeding, every patient explanation - it all counts. It's all worship when we approach it with the right heart
Home education isn't just about academics - we're raising the next generation of believers, and that's work that matters.
The mental load is real - and we need actual solutions, not just "self-care" cliches.
Success looks different for us - it's measured in character built, values instilled, and children who love Allah.
We need each other - this journey was never meant to be walked alone.
I want to change how we talk about motherhood. Instead of treating it like a side hustle or something we do until we find our "real" calling, I want us to embrace it as our most important work.
Through this community, we help mothers:
Feel confident in their choices (even when the world questions them)
Find practical solutions that actually work in real life
Connect with sisters who get it
Discover the spiritual rewards hidden in everyday moments
Create a life that serves both their families and their own growth
Everything I do here is in memory of my mother.
She showed me what it looks like to live with purpose, to serve without seeking credit, and to find joy in the ordinary moments of family life.
Though she's no longer with us, her influence shapes every resource I create and every conversation I have with mothers in this community.
When you join Mastering Mamahood, you're not just getting tips and strategies.
You're joining a movement of mothers who refuse to apologise for their choices.
Who see the sacred in the mundane.
Who know that raising righteous children is one of the most important jobs in the world.
Your worth isn't tied to a paycheck or a job title.
It's found in the late-night prayers you whisper over your sleeping children, the patience you show during difficult moments, and the love you pour into shaping the next generation.
You're not just a mother - you're a world-shaper.
And that's work worthy of our absolute best.
With love and deep respect for your journey,
Abi | Umm Hawwa
